Also walking/falling into a frozen ice cave could be a spectacle. Walking through a blizzard where you barely see and hear (add maybe also night time) could rise the tension. The environmental hazard is barely used on the planet surface. Option to shoot the glass on the space ships to make a new entrance or exit on them. Introduce new necromorph(s) that are effective and dangerous in space. Just like in the remake, you could fly from one ship to the other without a disguised loading mechanic. With the current technology the devs hopefully could do what Visceral intended in the space section. The game could instead expand on the sudden horror unleashed on the population (Like in the Sprawl). Escaping the Moon don't need unitologist enemies. The most noticable are the Moon in the beginning and repairing the shuttle in the Terra Nova (action music never stops). Human enemies are fine, maybe need slightly less of them.Īll 3 games have plenty of action, but 3 could use a bit less of it, and more quiet moments. The markers' effect should be more noticable, frequent and dangerous to every character (afterall you are so close to the source) At least give her a weapon she use or help with holding the elevator up! She just stands in the background doing nothing during the death of Santos. He could be more menacing while at the same time have less in person screentime (Like Tiedemann).Įllie could be more useful. If Carver remains, he should not take a sudden and unnecessary risk by giving Danik the codex.ĭanik have a James Bond villain problem, he had Isaac at gunpoint 3 times and he failed to kill him. Side characters should have more use and screentime (Buckell should not be left to freeze to death) Norton's problem should not be jealousy, but fear of necromorphs. Isaac's problem should be rather that he knows he is in a suicide mission. Romance and jealousy can be believable, but it should not be a main thing between character interactions. The lore is good, the main problem with the story is character motivations and dialog. It makes sense for the character.Ĭo-op could work, so it may not need to be removed, but at the very least not make it mandatory for 100% completion. If it stars Isaac though I vote Ellie as the co-op partner. These ideas would necessitate the game be online co-op only, so maybe it should just be relegated to a side campaign with a main single player campaign. It would be neat if chat was proximity based so you would have a harder time hearing your partner if they were far away from you. A cool one off the top of my head is splitting up the players for a short time without either noticing by replacing the other player with an npc and having the doppelgänger attack at some point. Maybe an event where a player is attacked by necromorphs only the other can see. Both players games are unique in certain ways. They would need to rely a lot on the asymmetric design they had envisioned. There’s a lot more changes that others have mentioned, so let me give a more controversial opinion. Remove human enemies or find a way to make them exciting and dangerous. Perhaps Isaac and his team are just infiltrating a Unitology research center or something on the snow planet. Make Danek threatening and don’t have Unitology “win” in the beginning like the original. Keep Ellie and Isaac together or show us their deteriorating relationship before they split. Drop Norton or make him likable to some extent. The safe approach would be to just make a new single-player game with a modified story.
